This is without a doubt the nerdiest post I've ever put up, and should more accurately be labled as separated at manufacture. I give you...
NOMAD from the Star Trek episode "The Changeling"
and
IG-88 from Star Wars - Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back
Nothing wrong with nerdy...nothing at all :D
ReplyDeleteCheers!
Not nerdy at all. If you had tried to make a Ro-Man and Wookie connection, that would of been nerdy.
ReplyDeleteNot nerdy (a tad geeky, maybe.)
ReplyDeleteMy nerdiest was a long comparison between Powerpuff Girls and Powerpuff Girls Z...tres nerde.
I know it could have been worse. I could have worked in some "Lord of the RIngs" and "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" as well. For me, when the Star Trek and Star Wars universe come this close together it's like mixing matter and anti-matter.
ReplyDeleteMichael -- What you're talking about is what I call my job.
Both of them look kinda like the love children of that kooky "Living Brain" that Spider-Man fought, the one Ditko designed that looked more like an overweight filing cabinet with waldos...
ReplyDeleteIf I'm not mistaken that Living Brain also had an old rv set mounted on it which showed J. Jonah Jameson's face on it as he controlled remotely.
ReplyDeleteI'm ashamed to admit that I know that the robot you're mentioning is actually the very first Spider-Slayer, constructed by one Mr. Smythe for J, Jonah. But Ditko pretty much borrowed the overall design from the previous "Living Brain," which had menaced Peter by being programmed to determine who Spider-Man really was (the greatest part being the ending, where Petey reprograms the brain to finger Flash Thompson!)
ReplyDeleteAha, I know exactly the story you are talking about. This was the green robot with the ball bearing feet that looked like claw-footed furniture. It was sort of like a boom box with a helmet on top of it and swivel arms with balls for hands, like the feet. I mixed the two of them together. I'm pretty fluent in my early Spider-Man as well.
ReplyDeleteSee, not just my nerdiest post, but my nerdiest comments, too.
