Images of monsters carrying women have been a part of the horror genre pretty much from the beginning, from book and comic book covers to movie posters, publicity stills, and even the movies themselves. In a way it's a bit sad that this trope has gone away for the most part. Sure, it makes no sense whatsoever that a gorilla, gillman, space alien, or robot would be attracted to a woman, no matter how beautiful to want to abduct her for any sort of weird mating purposes, or even to start a book club. It seems like it would make as much sense for them to carry off the leading man, wino, or even the leading man's car or fossil collection for the same purposes. Even so, it seems like an opportunity was missed in not having taken some publicity photos of Sigourney Weaver being carried off by the xenomorph from Alien, or Carrie Fisher in the arms of Darth Vader.
