The Halloween season doesn't feel complete to me without at least one visit from the headless horseman from
The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. Here are three interpretations of the character and his mount. Above, comes from the graphic novel adaptation by my friend
Bo Hampton.
Above is a beautiful poster created by
Wayne Kimmell for the annual
Irvington Halloween Festival in 2009.
Above is an issue of Mad magazine with a cover by
Frank Kelly Freas.
You can find other appearances of the headless horseman on this very blog by looking

Great stuff, John. The Headless Horseman is such a fascinating character - and one that still sends chills down my spine even today. I remember watching the Legend of Sleepy Hollow segment of The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad when I was a young'un and not being able to sleep without the light on for quite some time afterwards!
