Simon Barsinister was the primary villain in my favorite cartoon show as a kid, "Underdog." The tricky thing was finding the sickly, jaundice color to use for his skin.
An excellent choice for a cutout this week, John! Underdog was my favourite show as well (the Underdog pillowcase my mom made me at the time with needlepoint markers finally disintegrated last year.) Simon Barsinister has always been one of my favourite characters, and was the epitome of scary for a young Ted, right up there with the dreaded Sleestaks.
Good to see you back, Ted. Ah, the sleestaks. Sometime in early summer, after I have the opportunity to dig through some stuff I have in storage on the East Coast, you may have the opportunity to see some early comics I made that featured the sleestaks. I may also give one of these a whirl with the scissors one of these days as well.
John Rozum is best known for writing supernatural themed comics aimed at adults such as XOMBI, MIDNIGHT, MASS., THE X-FILES, and THE HANGMAN featured in THE WEB, or for writing supernatural themed comics for children such as SCOOBY-DOO or THE SECRET SATURDAYS in CARTOON NETWORK ACTION PACK.
He's written many other comics as well as magazine articles, television episodes and even trading cards. He also does occasional illustration work, and accepts commissions.
