Maila Nurmi, who in her persona as "Vampira," was the first television horror host, now probably best known for her role in Ed Wood's "Plan 9 From Outer Space" died a few days ago in her sleep. She was 86.

Thanks, Max. That's a detail of a larger piece I did for the back cover of the new issue of "Mad Scientist."
Sad that I didn't hear about this anywhere else, but I'm glad I heard it here.
