The Mummy's Curse (1944) takes place in the far future of 1995, a time when the flashlight has still not been invented, and people in Louisiana are still backwards enough that the clothes, cars and music are all from the 40s or earlier. In the last movie, Kharis and Ananka sank into the mire of a swamp in Mapleton, Massachusetts. Now, twenty-five years later a swamp in Louisiana is being drained and an archeologist wants to retrieve the bodies of Kharis and Ananka. I know what you are thinking. "Bad continuity." A lot of people point this out, forgetting that The Mummy's Ghost was set in 1970 when the state we now call Louisiana was still part of the territory of Massachusetts.
Kharis is quickly found, or at least the spot where he once rested is. He's off killing again for the benefit of his new priest and handler. Ananka rises, caked with mud and washes herself off to reveal a new beautiful actress as a character who doesn't remember who she is or how she got there, but is somehow very knowledgeable about ancient Egypt. It doesn't take long for Kharis and his handlers to get their hands on her (this movie is only an hour long after all), and for the heroes to catch up with them and foil their plans. The cult that cares for Ananka and Kharis must have used their last priest in this one because Kharis was never raised again.
Despite it's redundant elements found in the previous three films, which is pretty much the whole movie, this one's pretty fun too.
