NBC To Bring Midnight, Mass. to TV

It's been officially announced, so now I can tell you as well. NBC has bought the rights to my comic book series, Midnight, Mass. which was published as two mini-series through DC's Vertigo line. This is the third time that this has happened and hopefully this time will be the charm that sees this come to fruition. I'm a bit more hopeful this time with the talent involved.

You can read more about it at Deadline.com .

It'll be a few years before it comes to Japan but I'll be keeping an eye out for it.

This is great. If it *does* make it to tv, and you're given enough control over the plot, will you stay very faithful to the comic or like Walking Dead would you like to change some things?

I won't have any say in what they do with it, so I don't know how close they'll stick to what I did in the comic. Since the comic book really only had 4 stories for them to work from they'll have a lot of leeway to go off in their own direction.

If the show ends up airing and I'm able to get the comic book series up and running again, I'll keep going in the direction I'd planned for and it will have no relation to whatever they decide to do on the show.

If it were up to me I don't know how much I'd change if anything. Mostly I'd take advantage of what the television format offers that comic books don't, just as I've always tried to use the strengths of comics when writing comics.
