The Abyss Now Available for FREE

The Abyss story that I wrote with art by Cliff Richards and color by Chris Sotomayor is now available to read for free at the Interop Comics Website. You also have the option of purchasing the entire issue of Emergents Presents #1, which includes this story plus two others featuring two other new characters by two other teams of creators, as an NFT with a cover featuring The Abyss by Anrea Mutti and Chris Satomayor here. You can also download the other two stories for free here. I'm really enjoying writing The Abyss. It has two of my favorite villains I've created. I'm currently writing the second story, and have roughly blocked out a few more. Now's your opportunity to get in on the ground floor.

Thank You!

To everyone who voted for The Abyss in Interpop Comics' poll to determine which character from the 1st issue of The Emergents Presents would return first, I thank you. I had a great time writing that first story. I love the villains. Even as I was writing it I was formulating ideas for future appearances of the Abyss. Now a second story will soon be forthcoming, which I'll begin writing just as soon as I finish the story I'm working on featuring a different character for Interpop. Stay tuned for more developments.

The Milestone Compendium

I've accidentally been remiss in announcing this, even though it is, literally, huge. DC Comics is publishing a paperback collection of some of the runs of the original Milestone comics from the mid 90s. The volume, which is the first, of what will, hopefully, be a full series of books collecting the entirety of Milestone's comics. This volume includes: Blood Syndicate #1-12 Hardware #1-12 Icon #1-10 Static #1-8 Xombi #0-11 (I have been assured that issue #0 will beplaced in it's proper chronological point after issue #11) Shadow Cabinet #0 As most of you know Xombi was written by me with art by J.J. Birch (Denys Cowan drew issue #0) and coloring by Noelle Giddings and Agnes Pinaha, and has never been collected before. If you've read the 2011 relaunch of Xombi written by me with art by Frazer Irving, you'll want to pick this up. There is a lot of talent in this massive collection. Dwayne McDuffie, Ivan Velez, Jr., Denys Cowan, Mark Bright, Prentis Rollins, Robert L. Washington, John Paul Leon, and many others are responsible for the other series in this volume. It retails for $59.99 and will be available on February 1, 2022 You can preorder it at this link. If you order from this Amazon link I will receive a financial renumeration.

The Emergents Presents #1 Drops Today

From Interpop Comics, The Emergents Presnts #1 is now available on their website. This issue features stories that intoduce three of their new superhero characters; The Southside Sentry by Sholly Fisch and Freddie E. Williams II, The Accelerant by Christy Marx and Scott Kolins, and The Abyss by myself and Cliff Richards. The Abyss is a mysterious occult, martial arts superhero of unknown origin with a bizarre rogues gallery, some of whom are introduced in this action packed story. You can read all three of them here. Interpop is also letting you get in on the action in determining which character will return first with ongoing stories in an upcoming issue, so be sure to vote for your favorite here. I already have quite a bit in mind for the Abyss, so any votes to make that happen will be appreciated. Also, be sure to let me know what you think, here below in the comments, or take to your own social media platforms to help spread the word.

Who Is The Abyss?

The Abyss is the character I wrote for Emergents Presents #1, available August 18, from Interpop Comics, part of their new, exciting Emergents Universe. I had a lot of fun writing him, and have a number of plans for future stories with the same character, and even his villains, which are some of my favorite villains I've created. You can read the first story, for free, at the interpop website on August 18. Let Interpop know what you think. At this point, characters get more stories directly based on reader response. The art is by Cliff Richards with color by Chris Sotomayer.
