I love the Yama-ubu yokai! I've always liked griffins too (my high school mascot was a griffin, my university mascot, a gryphon.) Ever done anything with a Kirin?
I used a Kirin in a Secret Saturdays story that appeared in Cartoon Network Action Pack #36.
