Your collages are positively *amazing*. The Scooby-Doo Creeper and Hong Kong Phooey are two of my favourite characters, and you've excuted them magnificently. I have to say, though, the one that really catches my attention is the Dr. Quest, probably because he's not immediately recognizable to the average person. (I do love the semi-obscure characters, if one can call Jonny Quest's father semi-obscure.) I really like the way you did the cuts on the labcoat to indicate the folds in the fabric and the positioning of the right arm. The shadows are fabulous as well.
I, of course, am clamouring for an Amazing Chan and the Chan Clan as an upcoming Rozum creation!
BTW, I can only see back to Fun With Scissors #9...is there a way to see the earlier ones?
Go to the January archives. You should be able to see them all there.
I'm mixing better known characters with more obscure, or secondary ones as I go, based on whatever mood strikes me. I'm sure that I'll get to the Amazing Chan Clan at some point, provided I can find some decent reference to work from. I figure that if I'm planning to do the super-Harlem Globetrotters, then anyone is fair game.
John Rozum is best known for writing supernatural themed comics aimed at adults such as XOMBI, MIDNIGHT, MASS., THE X-FILES, and THE HANGMAN featured in THE WEB, or for writing supernatural themed comics for children such as SCOOBY-DOO or THE SECRET SATURDAYS in CARTOON NETWORK ACTION PACK.
He's written many other comics as well as magazine articles, television episodes and even trading cards. He also does occasional illustration work, and accepts commissions.
