31 Days of Halloween - Day 19

Movie Monsters by Alan Ormsby is one of my most treasured possessions. It will be the subject of an article I wrote for Mad Scientist #24. In a nutshell, Ormsby wrote and illustrated this book which was meant to not only introduce children to the classic movie monsters, but talked about the ways that make-up, lighting, costuming and acting contributed to making these monsters effective. He also went on to explain how kids could transform themselves into these monsters using easily available materials and then provided them with a play they could perform with their creations.

If you ever wanted to celebrate Halloween as the Frankenstein Monster from the Universal classics, here's how to go about it according to Ormsby.

Hey, I had a copy of that book, and loved it! (Lost it in one of the family's MANY moves, though...)

The number of times I checked this out from the childrens' library before finding out he made "Children Shouldn't Play With Dead Things"...
